Another successful Beach Party, although marred a bit by weather. Kids enjoyed the games provided by the entertainment committee, and the burgers and dogs were excellent, cooked on the barbecue right at the beach house. There was plenty of seating and when the weather turned a bit cooler with some sprinkles, the "campfire" was a hit. Eventually rain forced the party to move to the dining room at the club. However, this turned out to be the perfect venue for Aquile, and members enjoyed his music for the remainder of the evening.
June 2 was Family Fun Night. Parents and kids gathered around 5:00 to play the classic games of volleyball, badminton, and croquet. The adults tended toward the cornhole game with quite a few pickup teams competing for control of the boards! A Taco Bar was provided which included great tacos as well as salad bar, homemade taco chips, and cheesecake dessert.
After the meal, everyone settled in for some music and dancing on the patio, and the kids got going on an impromptu firepit with s'mores! Thanks to the parents for making that happen and in general for helping their kids have a good time. Thanks to the Entertainment committee for getting everything organized. And don't forget to thank the great CBC staff for all of their efforts to support this and other events. |
