Commodore Don Claunch
Don and his wife Laura are Casper natives and practically grew up on
Alcova Lake. Learning to water-ski at very early ages, they have
spent countless hours together on the lake and at a family cabin that
has been in Don's family for over 40 years. Their ties to "the
Lake" run deep: many of their high school weekend "dates" were
spent on Sandy Beach, at the family dock and skiing behind Laura's
father's boat. They raised their two, now grown children on Alcova and
now are enjoying having their two young grandsons with them on the lake
as well. You can find them nearly every summer weekend on the lake which
they consider paradise.
Don and Laura are both graduates of Natrona County High School. Don is a
graduate of both Casper College and the University of Wyoming
and holds a Master's degree in Business Administration. He and
Laura have been members of the Casper Boat Club for seven years and Don's goal
on the board is to continue to make the club the special place that it
is for its members by providing his skills and expertise back to the
club in which he feels privileged to be a member. In addition to
serving as this year's Commodore, Don is also the developer,
author and administrator of the Casper Boat Club's web site.
Don's term on the board expires December 31, 2008
